DMXSmartLink was founded on a standard I learned in the military: equipment has to work the first time, every time.

I served five years of active duty in the U.S. Navy as an aviation electrician — a job where "close enough" doesn't exist and reliability isn't optional. After leaving the service, I became a software developer and started volunteering with the lighting at my local church.

That's where the idea was born. I kept running into the same wall: professional DMX lighting and modern smart-home technology simply didn't talk to each other. The tools that existed were clunky, unreliable, or built for a lab instead of the real world. So I applied the same standard I'd learned working on aircraft — and built the bridge myself — the DMXSmartLink software.

Today, DMXSmartLink connects professional DMX lighting with the smart devices people already use — Alexa, your iPhone, Govee lights, and software like LightKey, QLC+, and Madrix — through one intuitive dashboard.

Here is what matters: DMXSmartLink is software. It runs on hardware you can already buy — a Raspberry Pi 5, an Ubuntu VM, or any similar Linux device — so there is no proprietary hardware and no lock-in. Prefer it ready to go? We also offer a plug-and-play Hub: a Raspberry Pi 5 pre-loaded with the software.
